You can create filters to return entities based on specific parameters. This allows for a quicker way to view entities with data similarities.
1: Creating a New Filter
To create a new filter, use the following steps:
-
Navigate to the Locations tab.
-
Select the filter button adjacent to the search bar, then select “Manage Filters”.
-
The Entity Filter modal opens. Select the blue circle with a plus sign in the middle.
-
Select your category from the “Choose Category” drop-down.

Available options include:
Category Type Definition Location Category Contains a large selection of the most common searchable fields for an entity. Fields include FID, Location Name, Address, Phone Number, and more.
Additional Information Categories Select any category from the Additional Information section to filter by the fields contained within. See Additional Information Fields for further detail.
Uncategorized Category This category contains any fields not included in the Location category or in the Additional Information categories.
-
Select your field value from the “Choose Field” dropdown. The selected category determines the field values that are available for you to choose. For the definition of any term you are unfamiliar with, see the Glossary.
-
Select your operator from the “Choose Operator” dropdown. If you are unsure of which operator to use, see Filter Operators.
-
Determine your filter's criterion.
-
After determining the filter criteria, look to the left side of the modal for the filter labeled “Unsaved Filter”. Double click on the “Unsaved Filter” label to add a name for the filter.
-
Once you have named the filter, click the Save button at the bottom of the section.
-
Select “Apply Filter” to have the filtered results display under the Locations Tab. The filter name will now display in the search bar.

1.1: Example Filter Setup
In the below screenshot, the values are as follows:
-
Category Value: “Location”
-
Field Value: “City”
-
Operator: “Is”
-
Inputted Search Value: “Redmond”
After clicking the Apply Filter button, the results update to reflect all entities located in cities named “Redmond”.
Note: Because the filter does not include conditions to search for Redmond in only a particular State or Country, the system displays any cities with the name “Redmond":
1: The “Unsaved Filter” dropdown informs you that you are viewing filtered results of an unsaved filter.
2: The “Export Entities” button is available for you to export the filtered results into an Excel file for further analysis.
3: These are your filtered entity results. Clicking anywhere on either of the entities will open the Entity Details section for Location Management.
